Sylvie Dee’s opens second location at City Foundry STL
The ice cream, coffee, old fasioned soda, and candy shop features ice cream from Serendipity and coffee from Blueprint.
After a successful launch in Webster Groves less than a year ago, Sylvie Dee’s has opened a second location at City Foundry STL. Situated in the breezeway of the food hall’s main entrance, in the space previously occupied by Century Coffee Co., Sylvie Dee’s offers coffee, sweet treats, and old-fashioned sodas. Here’s what to know before you go.
Like the original Sylvie Dee’s location, the main menu offering is Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream, whose product features antibiotic and growth hormone-free ingredients. The shop currently offers 17 flavors including Vegan Rocky Road-ish, Raspberry Chip, and Cherry Fudge Swirl, as well as classics flavors such as vanilla and mint chip. Ice cream is priced by the scoop and ranges from a kid’s-size scoop ($4) to four scoops ($12). Additional toppings are available for $1 each and include such toppings as marshmallows, gummy bears, and M&Ms. Additional ice cream treats include milkshakes, sundaes, cold brew floats, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream nachos with waffle cone chips.
The store serves Blueprint Coffee products, including espresso drinks and cold brew. The City Foundry location also offers old-fashioned sodas, with such flavors as blackberry, cherry, and chocolate, as well as such seasonal flavors as pumpkin spice and brown butter toffee.
The store’s shelves are packed with candy sourced from Europe and other unique treats, including a wide variety of marshmallow cereal bars, Pocky sticks flavors, and Kolsvart Swedish fish (made in Sweden and devoid of food colorings and other additives).
“The part of the business I love is picking out the stuff that other people don’t have,” says co-owner Rachel Closson. “I source things from the U.K. and a lot of Swedish candy.”
