City Foundry STL debuts new escape room and game show experiences this week
The Escape Game and Great Big Game Show share space at the Midtown destination.
City Foundry STL is welcoming two exciting new tenants right before school is out for the summer.
The Escape Game and Great Big Game Show join the ever-expanding Midtown entertainment gem, offering a one-stop shop for two immersive experiences, both designed for family-sized fun that “fights boredom” and “makes memories that last a lifetime.”
“Our games are story-driven and about more than just escaping; they’re adventures,” public relations coordinator for The Escape Game Jol Seitz says.
The Escape Game, which opens May 13, differentiates itself from other escape rooms by offering a customized approach to hospitality and guest service. In these games, guests and their teams are the main characters in high-stakes missions. They enter a highly immersive, multi-room set where they crack codes, uncover clues, and solve puzzles.
“The delivery of compelling experiences by engaged and empathetic team members allows for a ‘one-size-fits-one’ approach that uniquely considers every single guest.”
The Escape Game operates dozens of locations in 20 states. The new St. Louis facility features five original games, including Cosmic Crisis, one of the brand’s newest escape rooms. Other concepts include an underwater adventure, prison breakout, and time-traveling train. Each room is recommended for ages 13 and up and includes multiple rooms that hold up to 8 players.
Also created by the founders of The Escape Game (and sharing the same retail space), Great Big Game Show puts players in the spotlight as they test their wits, reflexes, luck, and more in a one-of-a-kind game show atmosphere. Great Big Game Show is offering free 15-minute games and a $1,000 prize at their launch party on May 16 and 17.
“Our location is in the heart of a center that has a mix of local St. Louis businesses, which makes our experience more than just entertainment,” Seitz says. “With all of these options at your fingertips, you get a full St. Louis experience.”
Led by a real game show host, each round features a different kind of gameplay. Play rotates between 18 mini-games, which range from trivia tests to strategy games, win-it-style challenges, and more, each with a short video explaining the rules before players get started. There are more than a dozen locations throughout the country.
“This brings a whole new level of interactive entertainment to the center,” Seitz says. “City Foundry houses unique retail brands and a mix of delicious dining options. The Escape Game and Great Big Game Show will fit right in with the mix of creative and elevated retail, dining, and entertainment options that City Foundry has curated.”
Whether you’re interested in a brain-busting, interactive puzzle or an engaging game show experience, both Great Big Game Show and The Escape Game promise to deliver on City Foundry’s key mission: combatting “I’m bored”-itis.
“We’re honored to join their community and be a part of the heart of St. Louis,” Seitz says. “Midtown St. Louis is becoming a hotspot for creatives, fun nights out, and community gatherings. We hope these experiences can become an integral part of these memorable nights shared between friends and family.” -St. Louis Magazine
